We have been caring for our clients on the Costa del Sol since the year 2000. We are now seeing the children and grandchildren of our original clients.
Optica Machin is a family optometry practice run by Jane Staunton Machin.
Since opening in the year 2000 in Estepona, Optica Machin has established itself as a highly recommended practice where eye care and exceptional service are the priorities.
Being a family-run practice means we completely understand how important your family’s eye health really is. You can expect a warm and friendly service each time you visit and you will never feel hurried at Optica Machin.

JANE STAUNTON MACHIN
Optometrist and Founder
Jane is the Optometrist at Optica Machin. She qualified from the City University in 1981 and became a member of the British College of Optometrists.
She has worked in the UK, both in general practice and also in domiciliary eye-care services. In 1994 she co-validated her diploma and became a member of the Colegio Nacional de Ópticos-Optometristas in Spain paving the way to opening the Optica Machin practice in June 2000.
Jane will take as much time as is needed to conduct a thorough eye examination. She is patient and is able to put the most apprehensive patients at ease. She will also take the time to explain everything to the person in the testing chair.

It’s not only Jane’s patients that she’s interested in caring for. As a member of Vision Aid Overseas, Jane has made five trips to Africa and has been involved in eye care projects in Ethiopia, Uganda, Sierra Leon and Ghana, providing eye examinations and spectacles to the local inhabitants and supporting the local eye care workers.
Keeping up to date with advancements in the optical industry is important to Jane – she can often be found at conferences and courses, both in Spain and the UK, making sure her knowledge is up to date.
JOANNE WARREN
Practice Manager
Joanne is the practice manager at Optica Machin. She's had a wealth of experience in management, accounting and the service industry in the UK.
Her love of fashion and design means that she enjoys selecting the latest fashion frames for our patients and takes great pride in helping them choose spectacles that look and feel great!
She always offers an honest opinion and will do her utmost to find the right lens and frame options available to provide optimum comfort and style.
